It was warm enough here that I took the boat out on the lake. But other than a week, when does it get easier?

It's a difficult one to quantify. Personally, I'd say it began to get easier after around a month (that was the point where I started to believe I really could do it) but it's a very gradual process. You don't really notice it at first and then you suddenly have a moment where you realise you've not thought about smoking all day (that happened to me around two months in). After that, time seems to speed up again. You still have curved-ball moments when you're suddenly floored by a craving (still remember a time at a wedding, around six months into my quit, where I had to lock myself in a toilet because the crave was so powerful) but those moments become less frequent and the craves become weaker (they're like little ghost craves if that makes sense) until eventually you can't imagine ever having smoked.

It's different for everyone but I think every quitter has a moment where it feels like a switch in your brain has flipped (and you just know for absolute certain you'll never smoke again). Not that I'd call myself a non-smoker. I'm an ex-smoker and I'll always have to be on my guard to some extent.

Just keep going. One foot in front of the other. The only way is through but you WILL get through if you can do that.
Finally saw sense on 8/12/13

So many mountains, so little time...
