Old Cuban c-ocktail :-)
« on: July 21, 2015, 07:50:36 pm »
40 g caster sugar
70 ml Bacardi 8 year old dark rum
Juice of 1/2 lime
1 sprig of fresh mint, leaves picked
Angostura bitters a handful of ice cubes
50 ml Prosecco

Chill the c-ocktail glass in the freezer. Meanwhile, heat the sugar and 25ml of water in a small pan until the sugar dissolves to a syrupy consistency, swirling the pan occasionally.

Add the sugar syrup, lime juice and rum to a c-ocktail shaker.
Lightly muddle the mint leaves in a pestle and mortar, then add to the mixture with a couple of dashes of Angostura bitters and the ice cubes.
Put the lid on and give it a good shake, then sieve into the chilled glass.
Top up with Prosecco and enjoy.
Finally quit after 35 years & several attempts.
Used Champix this time and it worked a treat!!
Last smoke 1 Nov 2013 and still going strong :)

Ill take a rain cheque. Im such a lightweight that Barcardi would turn me into a drunken hooligan so mixed with prosecco I dread to think what I would do.
After far too many years I stubbed out my final cigarette on February 6 2011 at 10 pm and havent looked back since.
