15 weeks is over 100 days, what an inceredible result from Nicky 40.

Having done couch to rugby player 10 years ago I was plagued with knee, achilles and shin splint problems. The only way I was able to train was many weeks of walking then with increasing amount of jogging in the middle of my walk. Literally a couple of minutes of jogging for the first few weeks and months before my knees/shins/achilles were able to jog a few KM's.

At the 1st sign of an ache or pain no more running and back to walking.

If you knee is shot what about swimming or cycling low impact sports?

Thank you @Not Another Puff I'm hoping my knee isn't shot lol, I already do a lot of walking and always do 10k steps per day and 10-20k on weekends.  Unfortunately I don't think my knees are in very good condition as they noisily creak and grind which is not pleasant and have been like that for a few years.  I have rested this week (though still walked evenings, just a bit slower!)  Also I am still obese which I guess impacts on joints when I run.  I am planning to just repeat week 1 of C25K a few times as it's only a minute a time of running and if it gets no better I will try something else (apparently it's easier on a running machine).

I have a bike, just waiting for longer/lighter evenings as I don't road cycle, just cycle tracks, tow paths etc and I will look at re joining the gym for swim and aqua aerobics, was just trying to exercise for free for a while  ;)
Smoked for most of my adult life (and a fair bit of my childhood!).  Managed a two year quit 2014-2016 but started again!  Quit again on 6th January 2018 and lasted 7 months!  Third quit lucky 21/11/2018!

16 weeks today  :foundbeer: :foundbeer: :foundbeer: My next post will be in month 5!  Really didn't think I would get this far and I'm so pleased.

Just booked to go on a cruise in 2020, and we booked a suite (we were supposed to push the boat out this year for 10th anniversary but couldn't afford it so we are doing next year instead) so apart from anything else I absolutely cannot afford to re start smoking  ;)
