30 Weeks today
« on: June 19, 2019, 08:34:02 am »
So today marks 30 whole weeks of not one puff!  That's 210 days and I'm so pleased.  Very occasional craving but it's a want not a need and usually only when I have had a drink.  I still avoid social groups of mainly smokers when I can, my best friend is usually with me when we are out and she quit 5 years ago so helps a lot.  :foundbeer:

Saved: £890.00
Cigs avoided: 2094

We are off to Jersey next week for 7 days, quite a big family/friends group going so looking forward to a break (and maybe some summer as we don't seem to have one here!)
Smoked for most of my adult life (and a fair bit of my childhood!).  Managed a two year quit 2014-2016 but started again!  Quit again on 6th January 2018 and lasted 7 months!  Third quit lucky 21/11/2018!

@tea my granddaughter now is almost 1, that has gone so fast!  She is gorgeous and I love spending time with her, will miss her when we are away as they aren't coming unfortunately.

Thank you all, had a lovely holiday with family & friends (3 smokers and I wasn't tempted).  :foundbeer:

Very busy now as will be moving in the next couple of months so need to do some sorting and packing (only moving a few streets away from current house).  010

Hi @Nicky40 ,haven't been on for a while as forgot password but reset it today and wanted to know how you were doing and i see its looking good. You still haven't smoked much since 2017 when you were quitting With Enough,GG and me so take heart from that. I still have to say nope now and again and always will, i think there are still a couple of i.c chips in my brain that won't let me forget i was a smoker for 40 years, but its bearable. Keep doing what you do , your doing great. 007
Quit 16th November 2017.
Last smoke 21st November 2017.
Trigger word...LEG.

34 weeks yesterday, pleased with myself but sadly my best friend has started again after 6 years.  I'm hoping once her stressful situation improves she will be able to stop again.  Just goes to prove we are always smokers and can start again just like that.

Rather than start another thread in the same room I thought I would update this one.  I'm now 40 weeks/280 days/10 months without smoking.  Re gained a little of my recent weight loss unfortunately so I need to work on that and I still suffer with Post nasal drip since quitting (constant throat clearing and nose blowing) but overall healthier and feeling good.  Very busy now as a couple of weekend breaks Sep & Oct and also moving house sometime soon so lots to look forward to.

Honestly I still very occasional miss smoking but it's only when I have a drink in my hand outside in the sunshine, it will soon be much less appealing when the smokers are huddled against the pub window in the cold & rain.

Oh that's FANTASTIC news @Nicky40 !! So pleased for you. And you're right- once winter sets in you certainly won't be envying those poor huddled groups of smokers in the wind and rain. And won't you feel chuffed at Xmas?  ;D 007 008 008 008

Nicely done @Nicky40!! So we have 12 weeks to plan this Penthouse Party. You’d better tell us the theme, dress code, music choices, food and beverage orders......

I always follow the dress code....
