Bonjour 6 Months
« on: May 07, 2015, 08:48:14 pm »
6 months and 41 minutes done and dusted.
Never really believed all you lot saying it does get easier, but now I'm here I should never have doubted.
I've also read a lot of times people saying If I can do it anyone can, again wholeheartedly agree, hard to imagine early doors reaching 6 months never mind 12, but if I can do it anyone can.
Some trials and tribulations on the way, not sleeping, feeling low and a bit depressed, but some exercise and happy pills seems to be fixing that so bring it on(in a don't get complacent sort of way) is the shout  !!
"Some people believe quitting smoking is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed with that attitude. I can assure you it is much, much more important than that".

WHOOP WHOOP, HALF A YEAR DONE AND DUSTED!!!
Getting this far is a MASSIVE achievement so I hope you're suitably chuffed with yourself and have celebrated such a major milestone on the road to freedom.  I can faithfully promise you that the second half of the year is easier than the first, if you haven't had that magic moment already then in your future lies the day when you get in to bed and suddenly realise you haven't thought about smoking all day!

Just you keep on keeping on, treat yourself to whatever floats your boat with the money you would have spent feeding the nicotine monster and keep us up to speed - it's fantastic to see you racking up the milestones, getting ever closer to the Penthouse! 8)

Smoker for 20+ years with a 3 year quit in the middle

Andrew, great job on 6 months :D  You are right, at the beginning you just don't believe people when they say it does get easier and If I can do it anyone can. I remember that and never thought I'd be able to quit, but, along with lots of other people I managed it. You will too and just remember NOPE ;D

Cheers for the messages and special Thanks to the Everton players making time before a match to applaud my 6 month achievement :foundbeer:
I plan to keep my head down over the next few months on the march up to the Penthouse.

Wow, well done. Did the Everton players really give you a clap before the match? I wish I had seen that.

Ha Ha Tea, that would be great if players really did acknowledge the achievement of not smoking.
I might write to Roberto Martinez and see if he can organise it  8)
