Well it’s an unbelievable  7 years today that I gave up smoking. Got to say it’s the most wonderful gift you can give yourself if, like me, you were a dedicated puffer! Absolute freedom from the tyranny of cigarettes cannot be over estimated. I don’t stink, I don’t fret about how am I going to get my next smoke, I have more money in my pocket and best of all I made very good friends on the predecessor to this forum. Indeed many of us from the old BHF forum are still active on this one.
Newbies I cannot stress enough that the support you can get from other quitters is crucial in a successful quit, well it certainly was for me.
Keep on keeping on its so worth it

Well done that girl, how I wish I had kept my 2 year quit going but I didn't have this forum for support back then. Well I have now and it makes all the difference.Cant understand why so many ppl join this forum but never post, I'm sure they are all still smoking, unless they can tell me otherwise..... was that a new posting I hear.
Quit 16th November 2017.

Whilst this is an amazing, personal achievement, I am grateful that you and the other originals are still here on the group, contributing your wisdom and leading the way.

Thank you for continuing and being an inspiration to others.

That's a really good point. I am sure some people register and shall I -shan't I- with the idea of posting, then drift away. Being able to snare those new people at the point where they are most likely to give it their best shot, would make for a big increase in quitters on here.

Another point is that failure is not much evident on this site; and people do in truth fail, have to restart, give up quitting for a year etc so maybe the success that binds a lot of quitters together here, though welcome and magnificent ,also slightly deters those who are most fearful of failure who look and see that the vast majority on here seem to succeed.

Just rambling,ignore me  :foundbeer:
