Oh @Gerti1 I do like those!! I like the cherry veggie ones too and they're always 2 for £3 but I never get them as a Sparks offer.

Thank you everyone for your kind words and support.
I'm back to feeling ok again.
I think the problem was being off work, I have 2 jobs one of which is in a school so I was on half term last week which gave me more time to think about smoking (or rather not smoking).  I had been doing so well up until that point but having a week of thinking about it a lot more wore me down to the point where I thought it would be easier to give in!
I think with me it is more my mind set/habit rather than withdrawal, the teasiness and anxiety leaves me quite quickly!.  I have smoked for near enough 35 years and that is a long time and takes a lot to change the habit and mind set.  I find myself thinking 'that's me, I should be smoking, it's what I do'
My mantra now is 'that is not me, it's not what I do and it doesn't define me'  hopefully this will work when I think about smoking.
Onwards and Upwards  :D

So glad you are feeling better @Alidye69 . There are going to be ups and downs, good days and bad for all of us but we get through them and can then be pleased and proud of ourselves for not giving in.  007
Smoked for most of my adult life (and a fair bit of my childhood!).  Managed a two year quit 2014-2016 but started again!  Quit again on 6th January 2018 and lasted 7 months!  Back on the wagon again now...........

@Alidye69 , I know that 'I've always smoked' feeling so well. Honestly, hard though it is to imagine, your brain really does re-wire itself to the point where you become the person who used to smoke but who no longer does (and doesn't miss it).

Well done for holding on in there. Those difficult patches will become less and less frequent I promise.  :)

Well done @Alidye69 - so pleased you are feeling back on track.  Do you have any pear drops left.  Ive been thinking of them ever since your last post.
After far too many years I stubbed out my final cigarette on February 6 2011 at 10 pm and havent looked back since.

Oh well done @Alidye69. You are completely right.  Do NOT let those horrible chemical ridden tubes define you.  It is hard but it is also so exciting because YOU get to recreate yourself if you want to and define yourself as whoever YOU want to be.  It really is quite liberating.

Oh and @tea and @Gerti1 and @Alidye69 we went here during our half term break in the Cotswolds and I couldn’t help but think of you all!!!

oooohhh @Enough42 I love these sweet shops, it always costs me a fortune, for some reason sports mixture and midget gems taste so different especially the black ones.  They always bring back childhood memories.  ;D

Oh we've got one of these in Birmingham city centre @Enough42 and it still has the original till where the numbers pop up on sticks. I always get sherbet pips. They last for ages....

Can you still get sweet peanuts? (the sweet with a candy coat shaped like a peanut with crushed salted peanuts inside). I loved them when I was little.  ;D

Thank goodness there are no sweetie shops near me ,(in fact there are no shops full stop)  If there were I'd be buying sweets to replace cigs.  Pear drops, tangfastics, chocolates...anything.  Don't tempt me please
Quit date 18 Jan 2018.
