Day 3 has been owned.
« on: January 25, 2018, 09:31:32 pm »
My first day on the forum but my third day of quitting.  Day 3 is always a tough one for some reason and today was no exception.  The cravings hit from nowhere and it's hard to see beyond them.....the little voice starts trying to persuade you that it's not the right time or that you'll never manage with these cravings and are bound to fail at some point.  But none of this is true and day 3 will be this hard every time you face it.  Best distract yourself and just get through it. It's a smelly, lung-choking habit and it has to stop!

I will not smoke and i know it will get easier.  In your face Day 3  :ninja:

Well done on three days. Day three is particularly crap, I got to that day a few times and quit quitting for all those daft reasons you mentioned. Distraction is the best thing, craves don't last any longer than three minutes so find something else to do if you can. You can do this.  007
Smoked for most of my adult life (and a fair bit of my childhood!).  Managed a two year quit 2014-2016 but started again!  Quit again on 6th January 2018 and lasted 7 months!  Back on the wagon again now...........

Not too bad as since starting smoking again I was a light smoker, only around 10 a day (more when drinking). It's harder to quit a heavier habit. I do find although I'm ok with the few craves I seem to get irrationally angry quite a bit.  Im avoiding alcohol mostly as I'm not ready, I dont feel confident enough not to smoke when I have had a few.

Day 3 can be hard, but you've done it now and........you don't want to repeat day 3 again do you?   Guess you'll just have to keep going with your quit 006

@Gerti1  Thanks for the encouragement, it really helps me :) No, I can't face using any quitting aids because when i've tried them in the past, it felt like I was admitting that i needed something from smoking and that makes me more likely to fail.  I know they are extremely useful to many quitters so a great option if they help but i need to go cold turkey.   009
