Start of week three
« on: January 21, 2018, 09:34:24 am »
Today is day 15, two weeks done and dusted thankfully. Yesterday wasnt great as when my son popped round I really wanted to steal his tobacco. I was snappy all day too. Feel a bit better this morning after having a bit of a lay in and breakfast in bed (thanks hubby). Next job ironing then a quick tidy up before having family over for dinner (non smoking ones this weekend).

Have a great relaxing Sunday everyone  006
Smoked for most of my adult life (and a fair bit of my childhood!).  Managed a two year quit 2014-2016 but started again!  Quit again on 6th January 2018 and lasted 7 months!  Back on the wagon again now...........

But the Week 3 room was been cleaned and restocked for you. I've added zen candles, extra bubble bath and fluffier slippers.

Just like the saying " Look after the pennies and the pounds will look after themselves" , you could say "Look after each individual day and the lifetime quit of freedom from tobacco slavery will look after itself "

Just keep on going @Nicky40 you are doing just great. I still get snappy every now and then but am able to recognise what it is and apologise shortly thereafter now to my hubby and/or kids. They understand and would rather have me continue my quit and be a bit snappy as I adjust to a ball and chain free life without fags than revert to what life was like beforehand where my day literally revolved around when/how I could smoke.

Bless you, I swear it was a major blessing that I live alone when I was quitting, I would have been HELL to live with!

Just remember that this is temporary and the day is coming when you suddenly realise that, despite whatever has happened that day, you're actually not the stressed out mess you would have been if you were still smoking.  I know it seems an impossible dream now but believe me, it WILL happen and you will be soooo amazed at how much better you cope with stuff now you haven't got the stinky little oik sitting on your shoulder, whispering his smelly nothings in your ear and ADDING pressure to a situation.

Crack on sweetpea, that first month is within reach!
Smoker for 20+ years with a 3 year quit in the middle
Used Champix 16/01/13 to 12/02/13
Last cigarette 8pm 28/01/13

Day 16 today so I got through the weekend, a little stressy at husband at times but he will live.  At least due to previous quit I KNOW this is just my brains way of trying to get me to smoke again - I'm so stressed and angry I need to smoke/I will feel better if I just have one cig etc.

I'm not going to because:

I can remember not wanting to smoke at all.
I can remember my clothes, hair and breath smelling nice.
I can remember having more money in the bank.
I can remember not coughing all the time.
I can remember not having to stand out in the rain for an addiction.
I can remember my hair and nails being in better condition.
I can remember not being a slave to Nicotine and spending all my time planning my next smoke.

You are doing so well @Nicky40

Early on in my quit when I started to doubt myself someone very wise told me:

If I quit quitting now, then I'll  be back to where I started. When I started, I  desperately wanted to be where I am now.

Keep quitting Nicky, day by day, or even hour by hour or if needs be just minute by minute.  Each crave you resist makes you a little stronger and makes that nicotine demon sitting on your shoulder a little bit weaker.
After far too many years I stubbed out my final cigarette on February 6 2011 at 10 pm and havent looked back since.

SUCH a good mantra that one.And the longer you go the more the " failed-quit you" would love to be at that place
