Hello day 11
« on: January 17, 2018, 10:30:55 am »
Well, I have surprised myself and made it to day 11.  Feeling pretty good, few craves but they are more of a want than a need now and always habit related (finished work, finished dinner etc), oddly I don't miss the morning one at all as since my long quit they always gave me a head rush and sick feeling - not sure why that alone didn't stop me?!?
Smoked for most of my adult life (and a fair bit of my childhood!).  Managed a two year quit 2014-2016 but started again!  Quit again on 6th January 2018 and lasted 7 months!  Back on the wagon again now...........

Hi @Nicky40 ,well done on 11 days. I had to look back at my time at 11 days and I was still getting a few wobbles a couple of times a day but found I didn't miss that first smoke of the day which made my head spin some days. I also noticed the smell of smoke on people was so strong, its even worse now and I have to stand back from people in a queue. That alone has made me more determined to stay smoke free and the £1000 pounds not gone up in smoke is a bonus plus more importantly I can walk again. You know there are no good points with smoking. We'll get there.
Quit 16th November 2017.
Last smoke 21st November 2017.
Trigger word...LEG.

I have saved just under £42 according to my app but that could be less as I smoked either cigs or tobacco depending on how flush I was.  I put pack of 20 cigs every other day in that app (was only 10 a day smoker where as before 2014-16 quit I was 20-30 a day smoker - probably why this quit seems a bit easier).

@Glasgowgal , enjoy the pamper sesh, I better not treat myself at the moment as the amount I have spent on baby clothes recently is ridiculous and grand child not even due until mid July.  It's just that the little clothes are too cute to resist  :) Have basically saved £42 and spent £142!  006

Oh congratulations on day 11 and congratulations on being a Nanny.  Best thing ever.  All the lovely newborn cuddles and when the going gets tough you can give them back  :)
After far too many years I stubbed out my final cigarette on February 6 2011 at 10 pm and havent looked back since.

Well done on reaching legs eleven @Nicky40.  I know what you mean about the spending and saving.  I went a bit nuts in the first month or so but hubby has forgiven me because he is so delighted that I am no longer under the stinky yellow thumb!

Oh @Nicky40  many congrats on the pending nanny thingy, we have 4 grandchildren now, 3 girls and 1 boy and I have been told that there are not going to be anymore.

Our poor son has had the snip and said it was awful ---bloody wimp  ;D When I had it done it was a bottle of whisky and a rusty razor blade.

Our Daughter has a boy, Capt Jack and now a 1 year old girl and has said that's it, one of each is just fine and no doubt she will be booking SIL into the local snip factory very soon, I did offer to do it at half the cost, but my offer was turned down :-\  can't think why  ;D

Ha ha @KitKat offering snip, I wonder why you were turned down....

Thanks everyone for all the support, it really does help as I sometimes think people around me get bored of my day counting so I try not to do it, only on here.

@Enough42 I know what you mean, I did it last time too, as rewards mostly. Clothing, night in Hotel, meals out etc which cost way more than I had saved lol. But same as you hubby will forgive the extra spending as he is just pleased I'm not smoking (he has never smoked).

Yes, our Carol always said that she wouldn't be known as "smelly nanny" and that has always stuck with me. I hope that you are buying all of these baby clothes in different sizes!! My baby was supposed to be tiny, she never was, so people had bought presents of 'newborn' and 'first size' which meant having to dress her in all of these outfits and take photos within one week and then I'm sure some baby grows never got used. She just grew like a weed for a year and I was always buying things in the next sizes up to put away. We're practically sharing clothes now, but am looking forward to being a nanny myself in 10 or more year's time because I can borrow the grandchild and spoil it but give it back.
