75 days - my little milestone
« on: January 15, 2018, 07:09:24 am »
Well thank you @LAST CHANCE SALOON because I was nearly a day late in posting about achieving my next little milestone, which is 75 days quit.  I think I’ve made it on time by about 2 hours!

I do still get a daily craving or two but they are nowhere near as strong as those in the early days and I just tell myself to suck it up and keep on quitting.....and of course NOPE!! I do inhale deeply when I walk past a smoker but I’m not stalking them.  I don’t have any family, friends or acquaintances who smoke so I guess I’m extremely lucky in that respect and I also don’t feel like the odd one out anymore!

My bathroom scales arrived at the end of last week and I am 4kg over my usual weight but am confident/hopeful that I can walk/run that off before summer holidays are here. Puppy is now 4 months old so going for much longer walks which I am loving. My intended running regime hasn’t yet commenced because I’ve been battling a nasty cough cold ever since the kids went back to school but once I am over that I’m going to try to up the heart rate a bit.

Thanks to everyone for your fantastic support. I still remember posting for the first time like it was yesterday and I certainly didn’t expect to be here 70 days later but I am.  Next mini-milestone is of course the triple figures, 100 days!

Well done @Enough42 that's amazing to get that far. You have done so well.

Apparently all quitters put on a few kg, not just because of snacking more but due to metabolism slowing to normal and as you said, you can shift a couple of kg easily enough - especially as you will feel much fitter anyway  :)
Smoked for most of my adult life (and a fair bit of my childhood!).  Managed a two year quit 2014-2016 but started again!  Quit again on 6th January 2018 and lasted 7 months!  Back on the wagon again now...........

Really well done @Enough42, and hope you feel better soon.  I need to re-start my exercise routine, so I'll be joining you in the battle to shift a few lbs.

WOOHOO, THREE QUARTERS OF A CENTURY!!! :foundbeer:

Making serious progress now hon, you're well on the way now!  As a distraction from craves I reckon Puppy McPupface has to be the BEST, it's hard to keep your mind on anything when a little furry bundle wants to play  ;D

Crack on missus, you'll be in triple figures before you know it  ;)

Hi @Enough42 , I thought you were going to miss it, well done on 75 days, you are doing so well after we nearly lost you in those early days, I hope we had a hand in keeping you going but its down to your will power that's kept you there. Well I thought I hadn't put any weight on over Christmas but iv'e put 6 kgs on, but I would have done that with or without fags. Like every other year it will soon drop off once we get out and about and get moving again. I haven't had Ted over the holidays so haven't  done any walking but iv'e got him Mon, Tues and Thursday this week so that should help but the weathers not looking to good. The days are moving along quite nicely since I stopped counting the minutes. Yes 100 is the next target when the Novembers will party.
Quit 16th November 2017.
Last smoke 21st November 2017.
Trigger word...LEG.

A bit late to the party but I had to say congratulations @Enough42  on making it this far.  You will be at triple figures before you know it.  And yes, the weight can be shifted.  I put on 9lb over December but back to Slimming World and I had 2lb off in the first week.  If I can do it anyone can.  It won’t be long until you add super skinny to your ‘heathy, happy non smoker’ tag  :foundbeer: :foundbeer: :foundbeer: :foundbeer:
