So many ex smokers
« on: November 19, 2017, 02:00:30 pm »
I think when i smoked i kinda thought most people smoked, well pretty much all my pals do. But out rowing this morning and everyone on the boat was an ex smoker!! All different reasons for quitting too. All in all very encouraging. They are all 5 years + quit.

Nice to know you're in good company, isn't it?!

It's only been the last 10 years or so that smokers have been in the minority and I am sooooo glad to no longer be the only one shuffling off, shame-faced, outside to have a puff at weddings/parties/staff dos/etc.
Smoker for 20+ years with a 3 year quit in the middle

Yep they were great company, they let out a cheer when i said that me quit two weeks!!   I just cant believe they all used to smoke!

My hubby is a social smoker and hes said he will quit if i get through to the new year. Truth be told i dont think he thinks ill do it. Which i understand as hes seen me try so many times before.

Little does he know that this time im gona do it!!!!!

@Glasgowgal  you too will be one of those 5 + years quit people one day and as for you hubby, well, prove him wrong as I did Mrs KK

To be fair, Mrs KK never said a thing to me in the early days ie the first 6 months and just let me get on with it and it wasn't until I got to the six months mark I even acknowledge that I had/was quitting.

Quitting cigarettes is one of the weirdest and most satisfying things I've ever done and I've done a lot of weird things and will still no doubt do a lot more weird things, well I hope so. I'ts quite funny when Mrs KK gets home from work and I say "I've got an idea", I can see her tremble as she asks me what ?

KK ;)
