Week 2, my old friend, we meet again
« on: October 10, 2017, 08:48:04 am »
Ok, so I am now into week 2.  My aunt has her first treatments this week.  Although it won't cure her it's nice to know that they are trying to give her some extra time.

I'm ploughing on, vaping away and I have adjusted to it.  There are still moments when it is hard, but I am doing this for me, to give myself the best chance at a longer, healthier life.  The next thing is to get the other half to stop smoking - that's a whole other challenge lol

Week 2 says "Hello....but it will soon be goodbye and this time it will be our last goodbye :'( :'( :'("

:vader: but Week 2's emotional blackmail will not work on you  :vader:

.....the biscuits and toilet roll are better in the Week 3 room and I am planning to introduce hand cream in the bathrooms.

Don't settle in too comfortably mate and keep track of where all your stuff ends up as this will be the LAST time you take up residence in this room so you don't want to be leaving anything behind.

Crack on and keep your eyes on the prize.

I don't know how I'd manage quitting if I had an OH still smoking but we do have members who've managed it - @Finally! and @hellerscatch both quit while their beloveds continued puffing away although now Mr Hellerscatch is also on the smokefree bandwagon.

Well done @markmcclean1980  for getting this far. I quit in 2013 and my husband was still puffing away, albeit outside, but I could still smell it, so it was quite difficult. I still managed to stay off them though, even though it probably was a bit trickier.
I wouldn't push your other half to quit at the minute as I think we probably would have been divorced by now if we'd gone for a doubler. He's been quit over 2 years now and he used the same method as you .

well done @markmcclean1980   For now dont worry about your OH.  You know yourself that you can only quit when you yourself are ready to quit.  Concentrate on your own quit and maybe he will see how well you are doing and follow suit.

Hope things are as well as they can be with your Aunt.
After far too many years I stubbed out my final cigarette on February 6 2011 at 10 pm and havent looked back since.
