Five years
« on: September 09, 2017, 08:51:31 pm »
Just remembered I've now passed the Five year mark, I even forgot. Probably because I've just been away to Scotland for a week and one thing I did which I wouldn't of been able to do as a smoker was I went all the up Ben Nevis , not bad for a 54 year old who smoked for 36 years , felt really proud of myself.
I never really give smoking a thought now a days and definitely never think about how it would be nice to have one, never thought I'd be saying that, but shows we all get there in the end   :foundbeer: :foundbeer: :foundbeer:

I surely would have done @tea;D Well done indeed @Netty , both on your 5 year anniversary and on your successful climb of the Ben. Did you have good weather? Did you get a decent view? Are the remains of the observatory still standing?
Finally saw sense on 8/12/13

Weather was good until about 3/4 of the way up , as you can probably see from the pic , visibility at the top was non existent and freezing and rained all the way back down , but still enjoyed it .
Skiddaw have you been to Isle of Skye ? We spent a day there, amazing views and walks there

Wonderful pic @Netty ! I see the weather was much as usual...  ::)

Yes, I've been to Skye- fabulous place. I've been trying to gather enough nerve to have a crack at the Coullins for some years (though I draw the line at the Inaccessible Pinnacle on Sgurr Dearag) but most of them are a wee bit on the scary side. I can do a certain amount of exposure but I have my limits.
