New member - on day 8 patches
« on: September 02, 2017, 08:16:15 am »
Morning folks! I'm new to the forum. I am on day 8. This is my 2nd proper quit. Last one was 2012 and lasted 7 weeks after finishing patches. Alcohol was my downfall last time so I'm avoiding that til I'm strong enough to say no to the temptation.  Planning on kicking it for good this time. I'm 33 its long overdue! Already feeling great! Only had a few mild wobbles. Nice to meet you all.
Annie

On Day 8 and feeling great is music to my ears. Did you buy yourself a treat for finishing Week 1?

Thanks for the support!! Nice to know there's some newbies like me.

For my week one reward I'm going out for food later but with a smoker so its soft drinks for me to avoid and slip ups.

Its nice to have some fellow non-smokers to chat too. Might need some advice on alcohol/not smoking when I'm brave enough to tackle it, lol.

Thanks again for the welcome everyone!  ;D

Hi Annie, nice to have you with us  :)

The booze trigger has been the downfall of many a quitter so we can all sympathise.  I refused to touch a drop for weeks and then made arrangements to do an online get together with other forum pals so we could all brave the booze together but in the safety of our own homes and away from temptation.

Make yourself at home, have a good pootle around the forum to see what tips and tricks you can pick up and post as much as you need - I certainly found my online family were what made the difference between make or break.

A Big Fat Welcome from me too @annie_658  :) :)

Sounds like you're really doing well. It's a good call to avoid alcohol for a time- like you, it was such a major trigger for me that I knew I would have to abstain for a while if I was to make it work. Good on you- I shall look forward to hear how your journey progresses.  :foundbeer:
