Day two (again)
« on: August 21, 2017, 01:17:37 pm »
Hi everyone, long time no posting as I have not managed to (re)quit since starting again last July until now.  To be honest I had neither the interest or inclination in stopping.  However, the reason I originally quit in May 2014 was bad circulation (numb, white toes) which has very recently started again and also I need some extensive, pricey dental treatment so will be needing the cigarette money for that!

So, first quit lasted 2 years and six weeks.  I aim to go past that this (hopefully final) time.
Smoked for most of my adult life (and a fair bit of my childhood!).  Managed a two year quit 2014-2016 but started again!  Quit again on 6th January 2018 and lasted 7 months!  Back on the wagon again now...........

Welcome Home @Nicky40  ;D 007 :foundbeer:

Sorry to hear about the pending dental treatment but I bet that having quit you'll recover a whole lot quicker than you would have done otherwise (and that your dentist will be well proud of you for quitting  :)).
Finally saw sense on 8/12/13

Thanks Skiddaw

The dentistry is cosmetic so although it will hurt it will be worth it.  Surprisingly got through over 48 hours with not much in the way of craving too so all good.

Welcome back @Nicky40 and well done on getting through 48 hours.  I can sympathise about the dental treatment, I'm part way through the process of having four dental implants.
Quit date - 1st October 2014, Quit method - lozenges

My advice is to stick around and keep posting and use this lovely lot to keep you motivated and on the straight and narrow. No point saving for the pricey dental treatment and then going back to smoking.

Good morning @Lostie my morning is going ok so far.  I'm going to make a point of logging in every day as much as possible, doing the quizzes, reading others posts etc - I do hope to get back to the penthouse (and stay there this time).

@tea you are right, it would be a huge waste of money on dental treatment to start smoking again, but honestly the smoking was actually making me feel miserable as each time I lit up in my head I was like 'Why are you doing this?', 'It tastes foul', 'You idiot' and things like that so I never actually enjoyed a cigarette.

Welcome to day two Nicky.  All here and rooting for you.  You can do this, you will do this and you are doing this.
After far too many years I stubbed out my final cigarette on February 6 2011 at 10 pm and havent looked back since.
