Not sure
« on: June 01, 2017, 02:21:37 pm »
Not sure if this is the correct place to post.  4 months, 20 days, the longest ever by far and I've failed again.  :'(
Family emotional concerns got the better of me, I know perfectly well it doesn't help one iota but there it is.

There is no right place or wrong place @Saucisse. I'm sorry to hear that you're having a hard time. You can always pick yourself back up and go again - it will stick.

I had a call yesterday from dads care home.  He's declining rapidly, losing weight, choosing sometimes not to go to the bistro for meal as he's tired and getting very upset the fact that he can't now go out and walk as he used to.
They are brilliant at the home (if anyone ever needs one for elderly rellies just ask) but they're not ones to call unless things are not good.
So, hey ho, my dearest father is failing.  He is the grand age of 89 so these things are to be expected but I'm sorry, had a good cry, bought fags and phoned the boys.
Now up and seeing him tomorrow.
Many thanks everyone.  Just so disappointed in myself.
I'm going to put a patch back on and hit it hard.  Xxxx

Good for you putting patch on and hitting it hard  ;)

Ach!  :-\
Very disappointing. But, in the early months of a quit, being vulnerable to this sort of stress is possible and can be deadly.
The important thing Sue,is for you as QUICKLY as you are able,to get the new quit off and running.Much love and best wishes and hopes that your Dad is ok X

My dearest @Saucisse so sorry to hear about all your troubles, life can be a real bitch at times and some how we are expected to cope and just smile our way through.

At times like this you just have to do what you have to do.

Sending you all my love and

Take care

Ah @Saucisse , it's a hard thing indeed.... so sorry....  Tell you what, however, you getting back to your quit is the best compliment you could possibly pay him.

@Saucisse my heart is with and well done for only succumbing twice. When that nicotine gremlin yanks your strings it does so when you are at your weakest. You will get there but I know, but for the grace of my stubbornness and being poor , I would be in your position too. I might be 21 months in but I am currently juggling a lot of balls and the only thing stopping me from buying fags - I can't afford to buy them!

I sending us both some healing energy to help us through but feel free to inbox me if you want to sound off rather than pick up a fag. x

My poor sausage, it's sooooo hard to deal with big emotional upheavals when they hit for the first time after quitting.  You've already done something amazing by limiting it to a brief hiccup (serious kudos there) and those two will hopefully have only given the sleeping monster a small nudge.

Much love to you and yours petal, if now is the time then I shall be praying that all who want to are able to get to see him and that the tide goes out easily.  Hang in there hon
