I'm stuck
« on: May 12, 2017, 07:18:41 pm »
Hit 4 months today and not a happy person.  I've racked down on the patches but struggling.
The cessation nurse is fabulous and given me a months worth of patches at the lower strength so will push on.
Early night again as that's all I can do , I'm fine during the day but come the evening it's a struggle xxxx

That's really hard - 4 months in and struggling.
But believe me it's worth the effort.

Which strength patch are you now down to?
Finally quit after 35 years & several attempts.
Used Champix this time and it worked a treat!!
Last smoke 1 Nov 2013 and still going strong :)

I've gone down to the 15 I think.  Anyone  who smoked 10 or less a day.  I suppose it's just getting used to less nicotine getting into ones system.
Watching mastershef final is compulsory then bed.  Xx

Would it be worth considering getting some 1mg gum or lozenges just so that you can have one in the evening to get you through? I was an evening smoker and I did find it harder in the evenings, especially during commercial breaks. It got better for me when I started my knitting as my fingers and brain were occupied.

@Saucisse , do please keep telling yourself how fantastically well you're doing (because you are). You'll come through this sticky patch soon I promise.

I think @tea 's idea  is a really  good one. I found the lozenges helped me through many a difficult moment.

Thanks everyone.
Popped to the pharmacy and bought lozenges.  It seems Mr Nic has changed his mode operandi .... hit in the evening instead of the morning.  I really didn't expect this little twist but hey ho, he's obviously a very clever chap  :(

He may be a clever chap but he can't get one over on you @Saucisse . Well done for getting the lozenges- I am sure they'll help.

Just think about that a sec Sue " I am fine during the day "  :foundbeer:

That means you only face temptation for 4 or 5 hours before bed, then you're asleep

So you have mastered control of 18 or 19 hours of EVERY day now,no wonder Nic O 'Tine is getting desperate and varying his tactics, cos he knows he's losing you  004

Bless you, it's rotten when he whacks you again like that   I remember being really miffed when I hit a really rough patch a few months in but just you hang on in there honey, he's only fighting so hard because he knows that you mean business and he can feel you slipping away, out of his reach.

@Saucisse four months in and that nicotine terror is trying to taunt you but you are being a superstar at ignoring him. I used to think of Dory at those times, "Just keep going; just keep going."

You will survive and move onwards and upwards.
Nicotine free since 22nd August, 2015
