Max and Kat's 5:2 purgatory
« on: November 21, 2016, 09:10:10 pm »
Having fought our way free of the evil weed @Max414 and I are now embarking on The Battle of the Bulge (although in my case it's more likely to be The Hundred Years War!).

I'm likely to use this thread to keep me honest and log my calorie intake on fast days, together with considerable whining that I'm hungry for which I apologise in advance!  I'll log my starting weight too, but encoded as it's far too dreadful to type in plain English!

If anyone else fancies joining in then feel free, should you have any wonderful extremely low calorie recipes or snacks to share please do, and please feel free to offer a brain to pick/a shoulder to cry on/a kick in the pants as I drag myself, kicking and screaming, through this process.

So, I begin at Zst 0.5lbs and today my intake has been:

Weightwatchers Tomato and Basil soup (77 cals)
Weightwatchers Chicken Hotpot (297 cals)
Walkers Square Crisps (97 cals)
Smoker for 20+ years with a 3 year quit in the middle
Used Champix 16/01/13 to 12/02/13
Last cigarette 8pm 28/01/13

Solidarity Kathryn!!!
I am absolutely determined to shift a stone. It's being overweight that is the single biggest threat to my future health,I know that. Blood pressure ok cholesterol ok but weight UH-AH! In fact I am obese,if you believe the nonsense that at 5ft 10 I ought to be a skeleton-like 11 stone something.Fat chance!!!!
So I embark on my exciting weight loss venture,my best girl at my side  :-* and I hit the scales at 14 stone 12.8 this morning.
I have had a good fast day today, haven't totted up the calories precisely but it's in the right area-

Thanks for the vote of confidence Little Blue, you were blessed that you were not around to see the state of me at the beginning of my quit journey, unfortunately you are around for the beginning of this journey and trust me, it's not going to be pretty!

Maxwell, I shall forgive you but only THIS ONCE!!!  Thursday is our next fast day and I shall expect a complete record of your intake calorie wise so no excuses!

Hi :)

Good luck weight program or battle of the bulge or whatever it's called , doing it together can only help and it use can quit fags then the weight thing should be easier although never easy to do anyway.

Here a couple of fun charts, I've no idea about the size of you both respectively but I'm pretty certain you'll be both looking to be on the right of these charts.

Kat

Max

Last quit 15/06/15.

To @Kat73  and @Max414

May I suggest that you both get a 5:2 diet book, some of the meals are damn good and very filling.

Also, when you are feeling hungry your body is burning fat, which means you are losing weight, so embrace the hunger pangs.

Good luck guys and remember RED WINE IS GOOD FOR YOU AND ONE OF YOUR 5 A DAY :foundbeer:

Oh poor @Max414 ! You sound so forlorn with your egg. I love a boiled egg I do, with some of that long tender stem broccoli that has  been lightly steamed so that I can dip it in the yolky bit....mmmm

Don't forget to drink plenty of fluids - some of that diet lemonade will be less than a calorie for a nice big glass but it will fill your tummy up.

Would I stand you up @Max414 ???  Of course I was on board!

Had guests this evening so couldn't be tap tap tapping away.  I had hoped to prepare something less processed for today but the day ran away from me so I'm afraid it was all prepacked again.

WW Tomato & Basil Soup 77 calories
WW Sweet & Sour Chicken 312 calories
Walkers Square Crisps 97 calories

I'm doing what my friend who does 5:2 does, saving up all my calories for the evening and then eating, it makes it feel like more.
Smoker for 20+ years with a 3 year quit in the middle

Not this time Buster!!!!

Tomorrow is another fast day,Kat are you braced  ;D my good old boiled egg and soldier will be for lunch plus a carrot, then at dinner time,a frozen lowish cal spagbol I made ages ago and no snacking and no bleedin' midget gems!!!!
