Air Fryer
« on: April 19, 2016, 03:46:39 pm »
I've just treated myself to an air fryer and I am really looking forward to using it.  What can I cook other than chips.  Anyone got one and got any good recipes to share.

Oops guess this would make more sense to be in recipes.  Feel free to move it anyone who has forum topic moving powers  :)

Oh. @Titch , I misread that completely and thought you had treated yourself to a hair dryer!  ;D Couldn't understand why you wanted the thread moved to the recipes section...  :)

Well my first meal cooked in the air fryer didn't exactly go to plan.  Home made burgers sweet potato fries and peas. What could go wrong. I burnt the burgers so then decided to hide the burnt bits with melted cheese but I burnt that too. The sweet potatoes fries were delicious even if the burgers weren't very edible.

Ps pic was right way round when I attached it. This seems to happen a lot with iPhones where it randomly turns them when you upload them. Anyone techy no a fix that stops it doing that ?

@Titch, regarding your problem on the pictures rotating randomly it may not be just iPhones.

I have found if you post a picture you have save from the internet, it is fine. If you post a picture of your own, that you have taken then, sometimes even though they are the right way around when you upload them, from your phone to the upload site. They will have rotated around. It does it on my phone too. It's an easy problem to solve. Here is a picture.

Under the picture, you will see a red circle which I have circled so that you can see the two little arrows in there. Those arrows are for rotating the picture. It doesn't matter what one you click just keep clicking it until if goes around the right way and then just copy the code as normal.

I hope that helps x

My mother got one of those air fryers @Titch and was super excited about it. But she used it once, made not crispy home made chips or something like that....and then she just gave it away to my wee brother i think!

Reminds me of those halogen oven things. I used to listen to the shopping channels if i couldnt sleep and they always had halogen ovens! Great way to help you get to sleep btw! No joke, i just used to drift off to sleep listening to them.

We use the air fryer and are now on our 3rd one so for once in this house it didn't get banished to the back of the cupboard. I use it for chips, home made, frozen or sweet potato chips. Also for roast potatoes on sundays which I add a whole onion to flavour. Such a healthy and economical way to cook. :)
I am going to do this
