Just popping in to say I made it too
« on: January 21, 2016, 11:43:03 pm »
3 weeks under the belt, one month is on the horizon.

The challenge will be Saturday night - going to my friends house for a few drinks (dry January is still going strong but v. bored of it).

She doesn't smoke but my other friends do so it will be the next hurdle for me.

Sorry I have been so quiet, I have been working late all this week and have been absolutely exhaused.

@RichCdLion and @Debbie I see you have made it, well done! x

Brilliant @kirstiedee so pleased to see you are still going strong. I'm sure you will be fine on the weekend, you are aware it is a trigger but knowing that it is can be half the battle. Stay strong mate you can do this x

Morning @kirstiedee  ;D

You're doing wonderfully well and I think you'll be fine on Saturday. The main thing is that you have recognized the potential difficulty and having done that, you can plan how to deal with it in advance. You'll feel SO proud of yourself afterwards when you've successfully accomplished the mission so hold on to that thought and perhaps make sure you have an emergency remedy with you on the night (I found lozenges invaluable for times such as that).

And have a lovely time with your friends! Bet they'll all be proud of you too (even the ones who still smoke)

Hello @kirstiedee, glad you popped in to let us know how you're getting on.  Hope you have a lovely evening with your friends.  Maybe you'll be the inspiration for some of your friends to have a go at quitting when they see how well you're doing,

WOOHOO, WELL DONE YOU!!! :foundbeer: :foundbeer: :foundbeer:

So chuffed to see a post from you KD, I was getting a little worried as you've been so quiet.  Not surprised you're wiped out, that's one of the things about quitting that we never thought about going into it - our whole body suddenly has to readjust after years and years of being conditioned to somehow process the poison we put into it on almost an hourly basis and it sends our systems loopy on pretty much every level!  Being stupidly tired is definitely a very common side effect but it will get better, I promise you.  It takes a while for us to revert to "factory settings" but you will get there and you'll feel so much better than you can imagine right now.

That magic month milestone is just around the corner petal, can't wait to celebrate it! 8)
